As per usual, we spend our time on this because we would prefer not to do what we should be doing at any given time.

Our shopping site is not available right now. I’m working on it, but with a new infant, a slightly less recent move to a new state, and a whole new career move, I haven’t gotten to the shopping portion. If there’s something you see a picture of here, feel free to send me an email: bartlebaby.email@gmail.com

Likewise, if you saw the booth at a show recently and would like to inquire about a product, feel free to let me know.

Bartlebaby

Who knew I could still tumble? Selling water bottles, coffee mugs, and sippy cups like a champ. So why am I making burp cloths and pacifier clips instead?

All set up and ready for shoppers. I’m at the 30th annual Essex Craft Show in Vermont, and although I’m happy to be here, I’m missing my chance to dress up as King Candy for the Childcare Center Halloween Party today. I’ll just have to be king another day…

It’s amazing what some strategically placed lights can do...

It’s amazing what some strategically placed lights can do for a booth. A little light reading for the day (George Eliot’s Ramola topping out at almost 600 pages) and my trusty calculator to keep me company. Yes, that is the new 17 oz stainless lined water bottle with exchangeable hot beverage lid. I love it! No more straw, but with dual tops - narrow for drinking, wide for washing. Who knew a water bottle could make me so happy?

I am so excited about the new fabric that just arrived. There are snaps (tougher for little fingers to undo mid-meal) and when done, voilà, unsnap, shake, and all clean! Ok, so maybe it will need a wipe too, but there are no corners and crevices to store gross remnants for some undetermined length of time. This beauty gets tested tomorrow by the messiest eater I can find!

The first attempt at a laminated cotton bib is here. Working at a childcare center, I’ve come to appreciate the laminated or oilcloth bibs that wipe clean rather than needing washing after each use (especially since I do the laundry for the whole center and the kids eat three times while with us). But wait…you ask, where is the pocket to catch the food? Well, it is a transformer bib. You’ll see!

For those of you wondering when I would figure out that the tote...

For those of you wondering when I would figure out that the tote straps needed to be webbing with the same fabric over, the answer is tonight January 12. I used MM laminated cotton so it is wipe-able and I made it a bit larger with my step sister in mind (she has four boys). I take it to my marketing committee (or co-workers) tomorrow to see if they think it’s a) worth spending money for and b) in need of an interior pocket.

So I started making these taggies for the kids at my childcare...

So I started making these taggies for the kids at my childcare center (the babies and toddlers at least) and I’m having fun. The Winooski PTO is hosting it’s annual craft bazaar and there are over 120 crafters. I’m here with my aunt and her hand-knitted and sewn hats and scarves. We wound rope lights through the shelves and you can see the tops of our new water bottles sitting there in their gloriousness. I’m not sure we will ever get the lights untangled, but it is worth it.

If you’re in Williamsburg, we have another show tomorrow at the Norge Dental Center. Live music and fun for all. 1- 5 pm. Let’s hope for good weather - it is suppsed to be an outdoor show! (if it rains, we will move inside the office, but I’ll be too distracted by the laughing gas to get anything done…)

BizBaz was a rousing success. Our travel mugs and child tumblers sold like veritable hot cakes (if veritable hot cakes still sell well)! Super special thanks to our worker bees AH and CW for fabulous bows, memo boards, pony holders, and (of course) key fobs aplenty. We had fun, and now we get to restock for the Children’s Festival in Hampton in a week and a half.

The new hotness in memo board technology! Square and fabulous.

We are gearing up for Bizarre Bazaar this weekend. If you are in the Richmond area, head over to the raceway Friday - Sunday and come see us. We may all be napping at the booth, but we are pretty light sleepers…

We’re at the Happening at the Forest (in the Wibdsor...

We’re at the Happening at the Forest (in the Wibdsor Forest clubhouse in Williamsburg) today. Last night was Ladies’ Night and we had food, shoppers, and adult beverages aplenty. It was a good time and a really great show. I was put in charge of music so we definitely listened to “Dominick the Italian Christmas Donkey” last night! Even though the photo is dark, our booth is really fun.

We are set up at Langley AFB for the OSC Bazaar. Listening to Christmas carols with fighter jets taking off in the background is an entirely unique experience for me. I’d invite anyone to attend, but security is pretty tight around here. I’m pretty sure that I signed away my first-born child to get in here, but I think the first one might just be for practice anyway, right?

We’re at the Poquoson Seafood Festival this weekend...

We’re at the Poquoson Seafood Festival this weekend enjoying our new leak-free tent!
